Operational Vibratory Screener
The vibratory screener uses a rotating eccentric motion generator that provides a circular motion along a vertical plane. High frequency with small amplitude (stroke) provides maximum screening efficiency.
When operating (turning) in the forward direction (with the flow), all the material moves down by gravity. With-flow rotation is used for efficiency rather than high efficiency, such as scaling operations. When operating counter flow, the vibrator operates (turns) in a direction that is opposite to the normal downward flow of the particulate material. With counterflow, larger particles move down the screen faster, and smaller particles remain in contact with the screen for a longer period of time, increasing the screening efficiency.
The vibrating screen has a unique way of adjusting the amount of vibration delivered to the screened product. Correct stroke setting allows stratification of the particle mixture during operation, giving individual particles maximum contact with the screen cloth.
The correct downward angle, an adjustable parameter on Prater units, ensures that content flows at a uniform rate across the entire screen area.
The proper combination of flow direction, stroke, pitch, and screen cloth size maximizes efficiency and capacity. These parameters are usually optimized before full operational mode using test runs.
